2010-02-06: Virtual texture & Compound texture video
Here's a video showing compound textures with the new virtual texture backend. I have not yet
bothered with fading in the new data as it is streamed to the card, so you will see some pop-in.
In this scene there are 3 compound textures for the terrain (diffuse, normal and bump),
that has one virtual texture backend each. All three has a virtual resolution of about 120 000 x 120 000.
The video ccompression still kills a lot of the details. You can download a slightly better version (xvid)

2009-09-27: Tech Demo 2: Updated
Here is a video of the updated Tech Demo 2. It is a bit more dynamic and alive when it comes to lighting.
Oh, and I finally got around to fixing the aspect ratio... Enjoy!

Sneak peak of Tech Demo 2. This is work in progress and not the final version...
Unfortunately the video compression killed a lot of the nice gradients in the post effects.

New release of the KaroEngine editor availble. Virtual texturing up and running, and works great in combination with compound textures.
Still some issues to resolve: some performance spikes and som pop-in.
Runs smoothly otherwise with a diffuse-, normal- and bumpmap with resolution of 120 000 x 120 000.
